Wines of the Week for Feb 20

Back by popular demand, Francis Ford Coppola Wines! This week, we are featuring six FFC Diamond Collection wines to please every taste and palate. Stop in and try some!

WHITE WINE SELECTION:

FFC Diamond Collection 2010 Pinot Grigio
, Emerald Label - California. Grown in the cool climate of Monterey County, ideal conditions for this delicate grape, this Pinot Grigio is delightfully refreshing. The grapes are picked in the early morning and fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures, bringing out top notes of apricots and tangerines, followed by flavors of pear, green apple and grapefruit with underlying mineral accents.

FFC Diamond Collection 2010 Sauvignon Blanc
, Yellow Label - California. Crafted from grapes grown in two regions of Napa Valley – Yountville and Chiles Valley – this Sauvignon Blanc flaunts a fresh, vibrant style, which is accomplished by 100% stainless steel fermentation. Here, luscious tropical fruit flavors mingle with hints of pink grapefruit figs and fresh grass.

FFC Diamond Collection 2010 Chardonnay, Gold Label - California - reflects the distinctive personality of Monterey vineyards, which give rise to juicy apple, guava and melon flavors.  Whole-cluster pressing and a combination of barrel and stainless steel fermentation ensures that the creamy texture and caramelized sugar finish is balanced by a crisp acidity.

RED WINE SELECTION:

FFC Diamond Collection 2007 Tempranillo, Crimson Label - California - Savory, spicy, and smokey, boasting lively flavors of plums, berries, and chocolate.  On the palette, smooth tannins combine with hints of sweet cigar smoke, and an earthy edge.

FFC Diamond Collection 2009 Malbec, Celestial Blue Label - California - Bottled as a single varietal, it reveals a firm structure, aromatic spice notes, and an alluring mineral quality. These notes are underscored with rich and exotic flavors of currants, cassis, cherries, and plums.

FFC Diamond Collection 2009 Syrah-Shiraz
, Green Label - California - Intense plum and clove aromas are the fragrant welcome from this wine. Made from grapes grown in Paso Robles and Monterey, this concentrated and complex wine has soft tannins, along with blackberry and boysenberry flavors layered with notes of smoky bacon, sweet vanilla and bittersweet chocolate.
