TOP SHELF SELECTION:
Reininger 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon - Walla Walla Valley. Spirited aromatics of black cherry, currant, plum, a suggestion of rose buds and a breath of baking spice. Its lively palate plays with road stand fresh red cherries, black raspberries, figs and black currants, with interplaying tell tales of herb, loamy minerals, and graphite. The wine’s vivacious character is perfectly balanced by very fine tannins that extend long into the finish of buoyant cherry fruit.
WHITE WINE SELECTION:
Chateau d’Esclans 2015 Whispering Angel Rosé - France. "Aromas of chalk, stone, light strawberry and lemon follow through to a full body and tangy acidity with plenty of flavor at the finish. Lively and delicious." 91 pts., James Suckling. Yes Way, Rosé!
Villa Maria 2015 Sauvignon Blanc - New Zealand. This crisp and vibrant wine has aromas of fresh snow peas, zesty limes and freshly picked herbs such as thyme and sage. On the palate, juicy acidity is balanced with flavors of melon, passionfruit and ruby grapefruit, capturing the essence of Marlborough. 90 pts., Wine Spectator.
Wente 2014 Morning Fog Chardonnay - Livermore Valley. “Apricot pit and ripe apples in the nose, very good quality, nice depth; medium bodied, nice crispiness in the palate; dry, pleasing acidity, very good balance; bright apple flavors, with an almost note of mineral; medium finish, pleasing aftertaste.” 89 pts., Wine.com.
RED WINE SELECTION:
PaXis 2012 Red Blend - Portugal. "Rich, spicy and deliciously fruity, it has tannins well cushioned by the ample blackberry flavors. Acidity preserves the wine’s easy freshness, while it also has a dense texture.” 90 pts., Wine Enthusiast.
Marques de Riscal 2012 Próximo - Spain. This Rioja is bursting with dark blackberry fruit with notes of rich, ripe plums. Hints of cherries, licorice and star anise on the finish. 93% Tempranillo, 5% Graciano, 2% Mauzelo
Leaping Horse 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon - Napa Valley. Flavors of black currant and cherry, with hints of blueberry jam, eucalyptus and mint, as well as vanilla and coffee notes. It’s smooth and rich and very approachable now.
